I started sewing when I was old enough to reach the pedal. My grandmother taught me on her black cast iron Singer. Through the years, I have sewn for fun, but mostly to make gifts. I’ll never forget my first big project was making a stuffed animal for my cousin when I was about 10. Through the years my sewing has always brought me joy and a sense of a job well done.

I picked up quilting as just another chance to pull out the sewing machine to make more gifts. I found I really liked it, but I was always afraid to finish my quilt tops for fear of ruining them. When I was introduced to denim “rag” quilts, I knew I could never ruin them. I started making them as gifts for family and friends. Recently, I had a chance meeting with someone who told me that I should share these with more than just my family and friends.

I hope you enjoy my quilts as much as I enjoy making them.
